My recap for January 18 episode of ‘Superstore’ titled “Secret Shopper”:
The episode starts with the Cloud 9 employees discussing secret shoppers (fake costumers who come in stores and secretly video tape employees) and whether they have any or not. At one store, after a secret shopper came in, the store ‘cleaned house’, firing everyone. But at another store, after a secret shopper entered, everyone got a promotion.
Jonah states he earned 100 points on an employee training test.
Glenn proposes they treat everyone like they are a secret shopper. But Garrett says thats too much work and Glenn agrees.
Jonah becomes increasingly cocky after a picture is hung up stating that he is a the “Top Scorer”
Amy tells Jonah to put the charcoal in patio. But Jonah says it doesn’t go there anymore and they should play by the rules especially with “all the secret shopper stuff going on”
Dina becomes very aware and questions every costumer as a secret shopper.
Garrett meets a female costumer and is immediately smitten, but Mateo intervenes thinking she might be a secret shopper.
Glenn gives Jonah the nickname “Mr. 100” and gives Amy the nickname “Bed Bath and Beyonce”
Garrett asks where the charcoal is, Amy and Jonah reply “Grocery”. Then Garrett says “Where are the tampons? Electronics?” (favorite quote of the episode!)
Dina is still asking costumers random questions, thinking they are secret shoppers.
Mateo is looking at security camera tapes. He tells Glenn his suspicions that Jonah actually works as Glenn’s boss, thus Jonah is the secret shopper. Glenn gets nervous.
Glenn asks Jonah for a raise, and Jonah says he can “make that happen.”
Amy and Jonah get into an argument over the store intercom (AWKWARD!)
Glenn still thinks he is getting a raise, and tells his wife.
Dina goes up to an elderly lady and accuses her of being the secret shopper
Amy asks Jonah to move something in the back, but does it herself instead, thus she tries to operate the forklift and totally fails.
Mateo asks Garrett where Jonah is because he brought Jonah meatballs. Garrett says Jonah hates meatballs and tells Mateo to go down to the bakery and buy a coconut cake.
Garrett finds the secret shopper but promises not to tell anyone.
Jonah takes over the forklift for Amy, but doesn’t know how to operate it.
Amy, once again, takes over. Resulting in Amy destroying a washer and dryer.
They continue to take turns, until they both finally give up.
Amy admits to Jonah that she started taking college classes. Amy got upset because she thought that Jonah getting a 100 meant he was smarter than her.
Jonah tells Amy that he flunked out of business school in Chicago, and that’s why he works at Cloud 9.
The forklift chases after Mateo. It is revealed that the secret shopper got the whole thing on camera, including Dina’s fight with the elderly lady.
Glenn announces that, even though it was bad, they still got a good score and no one was fired.
As Deadline reported, ‘Blood & Oil’ star and ‘Pretty Little Liars’ alum, Miranda Rae Mayo, is joining ‘Chicago Fire’ in a major recurring role. Mayo’s role has potential to become a Series Regular.
Mayo will portray Stella Kid. She is described as tough, bawdy, physical, fun, sharp as a tack, funny, and fearless. Stella is a brazen new firefighter at Firehouse 51.
Now, Dawson (played by Monica Raymund) will no longer be the only female fighter on the truck.
The producers took the idea (for 2 female firefighters) from real-life firehouses.
Mayo will (most likely) appear in Season 4 of ‘Chicago Fire’
‘Chicago Fire’ is currently airing it’s Fourth Season and has already been renewed for a Season 5.
New episodes of ‘Chicago Fire’ air Tuesdays at 10|9c on NBC
Charisma Carpenter, host of Investigation Discovery’s ‘Surviving Evil’ and ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ alum, has been cast in Season 3 of ‘Chicago P.D.’
Carpenter will portray a lawyer turned marijuana dispenser.
She will (possibly) be Detective Halstead’s love interest.
Carpenter will make her debut appearance on Episode 15 of Season 3 titled “A Night Owl”
No word on how many episodes Capenter will appear in
My recap for Monday, January 18’s ‘Supergirl’ titled “Childish Things”
The episode starts off in a prison where a guard is delivering a prisoner his food. When he doesn’t take the food, the guard enters the cell. The criminal takes a Yo-Yo with spikes and injures (possibly killing) all of the guards.
Kara is flying with Hank aka Jean. Kara thinks Hank should become Jean full time but he says that’s not an option.
At CatCo, Lucy and Cat are talking and Cat asks Lucy to work for her. On the TV, a news report states that the ‘Toyman’ has escaped from prison. The FBI enters CatCo to talk with the Toyman’s son Winn… He tells the FBI Agent that he has not heard from his father, but later, reveals to Kara that he found a toy from his father in his desk containing a note… Winn then tells the FBI.
Alex is still trying to persuade Hank to become Jean. Hank says he’s been Jean on earth before and almost ended up dead and says its better for everyone if he stays as Hank.
The FBI sets up a meeting with (a wired) Winn and (presumably) his father. Kara says that nothing better happen to Winn. The FBI Agents states that Kara is only there because Winn won’t do it without her.
Lucy and Jimmy discuss, if she should take the job at CatCo, Lucy says that it might be fun.
Winn walks into an arcade and finds a talking doll. Winn sees the ‘Toyman’. He tries to convince him to turn himself in. When the FBI has eyes on the ‘Toyman’ they run into the arcade and tells him to put his hands up. When the ‘Toyman’ won’t comply to the command, the FBI shoot at him. Then, the ‘Toyman’ shatters into pieces (literally). The says that it told Winn to come alone. and to run! All the stuffed animals release smoke into the air. When Supergirl flies in and inhales all the smoke, saving all the people in the building.
Outside, the FBI are asking Winn questions about his father. Kara walks over, Winn asks how she’s doing after saving them (and inhaling the smoke)
Alex and Max Lord are having dinner (Alex is distracting him so Hank can sneak into Lord Industries). Max walks Lord Industries into saying that he ended his dinner date (with Alex) early. He tries to enter the room with the girl but access is denied. He breaks in. Max walks over to the girl and whispers “what did they do to you.”. A security guard enters thinking someone broke in. Max attacks the guard, but it is revealed Max is actually Hank.
Supergirl meets up with the ‘Toyman’. The ‘Toyman’ traps her in quick sand. When a kid cries out, Supergirl tries to blast out of the quick sand, but the ‘Toyman’ reveals that if the quick sand is heated, it will blow the whole place up. She finally escapes the quick sand, goes to the kid, and finds out it is only a talking doll.
Alex and Hank are talking about what happened and Hank said he did something he told himself he would never do again. At Lord Industries, it is revealed the security guard, along with the security tape’s memory was wiped clean.
Kara and Winn are talking at her apartment and say that they’re are a lot a-like. Both their worlds broke and they’re trying to repair it. Kara reminds Winn that, unlike Aunt Astra, he didn’t turn evil. Winn kisses Kara, but apologizes, and walks out. The ‘Toyman’ kidnaps Winn. The ‘Toyman’ became evil because someone stole his ideas and now wants revenge. The ‘Toyman’ states that Winn will kill his enemy.
The FBI is searching for clues because they think Winn and his father are working together. Kara says Winn would never do that.
There is a toy convention, the ‘Toyman’ says his enemy will be there and Winn must kill him or the ‘Toyman’ will set off 10 bombs (already placed) at the convention. At the toy convention, Winn walks on-stage and points the gun at him. The FBI arrives just in time, Winn moves the gun into the air and shoots. Supergirl arrives, Winn tells her about the bombs. Supergirl makes the sprinklers go off just before the bombs explode, (again) saving everyone (obviously!).
Lucy says her office is on the floor above Jimmy’s .
Kara and Winn talk about the kiss. Kara doesn’t want things to change. Winn doesn’t know if they can be just friends. Kara asks where they stand, there is no answer.
Kara (as Supergirl) returns home to an awaiting Alex and they talk about Winn and Hank Jean and Max. When they sit back and watch TV, it is revealed Max put a camera in their apartment and is watching.
